FEATURES:Old Mauch Chunk Model Train Display will host “Christmas in Toyland” every Friday through Monday from November 26, 2010 through January 10, 2011. It is geared to “children of all ages” and will feature a fun and exciting old-fashioned
Christmas atmosphere. This family-friendly attraction is located on the second floor of the Hooven Mercantile Building at 41 Susquehanna Street in Jim Thorpe, PA - next to the Train Station.
Open year-round since 1985, this highly-detailed model train display measures 47 feet by 22 feet and features 13 separate mainlines measuring 1,087 feet of track, with some engines pulling as many as 50 railroad cars; over 200 structures - including;
- Skyscrapers, Houses, Churches and Stores
- A Burning Building
- A Train Pulling 50 Cars
- Life-Like Landscaping
- Allentown Landmarks; Including the PPL Tower!
- An Old-Fashioned Football Stadium
- And much, much more!
All Decorated For This Magical Christmas Season!
FREE Christmas treats will be handed out by Santa’slittle helpers to all guests who visit the model train display. Guests are also encouraged to drop off their Christmas“wish lists” in Santa’s Magical Mailbox. These letterswill be personally delivered to Santa Claus himself! Returning for the 2011 Holiday Season!
Old Mauch Chunk Model Train Display will be hosting “Extra Magic Express Hours”
Located adjacent to the model train display, Old Mauch Chunk Hobby and Gift Shop is stocked with merchandise to satisfy model railroading and gift-giving needs. It is also home to the one and only “Jim Thorpe Bobblehead!”
